Your Exit Strategy

I think that one of the most important things about my business or my program is that it has to be sustainable and it should be carried around through generations. To a certain extent I want to work on it until I have the time to do so. I would calculate that I want to spend approximately 5 years as the "CEO" or the main program manager. However, throughout these years I am expecting that we will have a lot of volunteers to keep helping other international students. I really want the participants to think that they were in an unfair position before and that wherever they are working now that they might realize that we helped them achieve the things that they have so far. It is important to set a culture of gratitude and to give back to it.

I have decided to select this particular exit strategy because I think that I want to help international students as much as I can because I understand the struggle of finding opportunities for reasons beyond our control. Nevertheless, it is so important for me to assign different emergent leaders that will be able to take over this program.

I think that it really influences a lot on my willingness to help people and how much I want others to succeed and to connect them with opportunities for growth. It will not benefit me, but it will benefit the future generations to portray them that they are not different than others, that if you come from a different country that does not mean that you are not allowed to apply the skills in a professional work environment.

  2. Hi Gerardo! Good post about your exit strategy! I think this is a great business that you are looking to have because you are concerned about the people that you want to help such as international students which is amazing. I think that your idea is awesome and should continue with it if it is a dream of yours. I really liked your idea to be the CEO for about five years and I wish you the best of luck with this.

  3. Hey Gerardo. I like that you want to stay involved in your business. Some people simply want to sell at a peak time and cash in big. You really care about your customer. I think it is smart to head the business for a while but then to look for others who could fill your shoes when the time comes. It is good to keep an open mind when it comes to big business decisions. Great post overall.

Final Reflection

Sadly, this will be my last post as I have learned a lot from this class. It has been an amazing opportunity to learn from the assignments...
